Suryavamshi Solar Projects LLP

5 kW solar system for Kerala homes.

For larger homes and homes with several air conditioners. The figures below are a typical estimate, worked out from our 3 kW and 8 kW proposals. Your quote is made for your roof.

Typical estimate

A 5 kW system in numbers.

This is a typical estimate, not a quote. We worked it out from our real 3 kW proposal (₹2,05,000) and 8 kW proposal (₹4,00,000), using the same components.

SystemAbout 5 kWp, grid-connected, single or three phase depending on your connection
Panels9 × 550 Wp DCR panels (4.95 kWp), so you keep the full subsidy
Inverter5 kW on-grid inverter with online monitoring
Roof areaAbout 450 to 500 sq.ft, flat or sloped
Generation, clear dayAbout 20 to 25 units a day
Generation, year-round averageAbout 17 to 18 units a day, around 520 units a month
Estimated price₹2,80,000 to ₹3,10,000 for design, supply, installation and commissioning
PM Surya Ghar subsidy₹78,000, so about ₹2,02,000 to ₹2,32,000 after subsidy
TimelineMaterials within 7 days of the advance, installation within 7 to 15 days of delivery, and commissioning within 10 days of installation and KSEB approval

Clear-day figures are from our proposals and depend on the site. The year-round average uses the same Kerala assumptions as our solar calculator and includes the monsoon months. Your roof's direction, tilt and shade change the real numbers, which we measure on the free site visit.

Who it suits

Right for homes using 450 units a month or more.

A 5 kW system suits homes with two or three air conditioners, a large family, daily induction cooking, or an electric car charged at home. If your KSEB bill shows 450 to 550 units a month (900 to 1,100 units for a two-month bill), 5 kW covers most of it.

The subsidy is the same ₹78,000 as for 3 kW, but higher-use homes pay more per unit under KSEB's slab rates, so each unit solar replaces is worth more to them.

Whether 5 kW runs on your single-phase connection or needs three phase depends on your connected load and KSEB's rules. Load enhancement or three-phase conversion, if needed, is quoted separately.

What is included

From design to net meter.

KSEB paperwork

Feasibility certificate from your KSEB section office, registration, testing and the net-meter change, all handled by us.

Online monitoring

See generation on your phone through the inverter app. You provide Wi-Fi near the inverter.

Warranty support

What is the price of a 5 kW solar system in Kerala?
Our typical estimate is ₹2,80,000 to ₹3,10,000 before the ₹78,000 PM Surya Ghar subsidy, worked out from our 3 kW and 8 kW proposals. KSEB fees are extra. We give a fixed price after the free site visit.
How many units does a 5 kW solar system produce?
About 20 to 25 units on a clear day, and about 17 to 18 units a day averaged across the year including the monsoon, which is around 520 units a month.
Is the subsidy higher for a 5 kW system?
No. The PM Surya Ghar subsidy for a home stops at ₹78,000, which you already reach at 3 kW. A 5 kW system with DCR panels gets the same ₹78,000.
How much roof space does 5 kW need?
About 450 to 500 sq.ft of shade-free roof for 9 panels.
Should I choose 3 kW or 5 kW?
Choose by your units. Around 300 to 400 units a month suits 3 kW; 450 units or more suits 5 kW. Our solar calculator works it out from your KSEB bill.
